Bike to Work Video

I managed to get the video I took of Bike to Work day chopped into little pieces and reassembled into a more tolerable length than 3.5 hours.

  1. You rode through the business park I work in, down past my house off shoal creek and through pimberton heights where lived years ago. I get the impression that riding to a ‘random’ destination is much more difficult than finding a long road with decent pavement and no lights. Overall it doesn’t look very bicycle friendly, with maybe 30% of your distance covered on bike lanes? I’m very impressed you rode a bicycle to work and home, given the distance you had to travel across the city!

  2. You definitely have to know the path you’re taking and what streets are safe to ride. Once you get comfortable riding with traffic though basically any 30-35mph surface street in town is fine. I wouldn’t ride Lamar or Burnet, 24th, 38th, or 45th but the smaller streets are fine. The real trick is getting across the highways. They have put a nice crossing at 183 and 360 which is cool.

  3. WOW!!! That was so cool!! My favorite part was when you were alomost home and you wrote “TIRED.” I couldn’t have made it out of your neighborhood!
